ON THIS DAY: Real Madrid celebrate with their fans after 12th European Cup win

On this day in 2017, thousands of Real Madrid fans gathered in central Madrid and at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium to celebrate with the team after they won the UEFA Champions League.

Zinedine Zidane's side beat Juventus 4-1 in the final in Cardiff, Wales, to secure their 12th European Cup trophy and third in four seasons.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in the final, in a man-of-the-match performance.

The other goals were scored by Casemiro and Marco Asensio.

Real Madrid are the first team since AC Milan in 1990 to win back-to-back European Cups.
