Ole's at the wheel, but Liverpool are top of the Premier League table, as we approach matchweek 9 of the English Premier League. Liverpool are in red-hot form, winning all eight of their Premier League fixtures. Manchester United, meanwhile, have failed to register a win in their last three outings in the Premier League. Manchester United's form has dipped alarmingly in the last three fixtures. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer was not helped by the injuries sustained by England international Marcus Rashford and French forward Anthony Martial. The Manchester United manager has been left short of options in the striking department, after allowing Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to depart the club in order to join Antonio Conte at Inter Milan.

Anthony Martial will return to training this week, after missing eight games with a hamstring injury. The French forward scored twice in the opening three games of the season, and Manchester United will no doubt be boosted by his return. Marcus Rashford is back, fit and firing again while on international duty with England. The striker opened the scoring against Bulgaria in England's Euro 2020 Qualifier, registering a thundering strike in the 6-0 win. Paul Pogba and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are also slated to return to Solksjaer's side for this big fixture. Meanwhile, Wales boss Ryan Giggs has insisted that Daniel James is fine, after a head collision in Wales' Euro 2020 Qualifier against Croatia. The winger battled for a high ball with Croatian centre-back Domagoj Vida and ended up colliding with the defender on the halfway line. James seemed to have been knocked out but seemed to be fine after receiving medical attention.

Liverpool's first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson Becker is expected to be back in the matchday squad for Liverpool. The 27-year old limped off in Liverpool's win over Norwich but is expected to be back after recovering from the injury he sustained before the international break. Mohamed Salah is also available for selection, after suffering an ankle injury in the game against Leicester City. The Egyptian winger was the victim of a rash challenge by Leicester's Hamza Choudhury. However, no serious injury was detected and the former AS Roma winger has been afforded the required rest in order to recover in time for Liverpool's visit to Old Trafford. Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri misses out on the trip to United after having sustained a calf injury while on international duty for Switzerland.
