Juventus director Fabio Paratici has recently confirmed to a leading Italian daily that he will set a meeting with their striker Mario Mandzukic to address rumours of him joining Manchester United. Mandzukic has made a name for himself in Turin over the years but is yet to start for Juventus since Maurizio Sarri took over the reins of the defending Serie A champions. Juventus seems to have many options upfront with Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo being in the squad.

According to British media reports, Manchester United are very interested in signing the striker after letting the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez leave this summer. Manchester United can sign Mandzukic for a reported fee of £9 million this year. It is reported that the striker can be offered an 18-month contract and with a £4.4m-a-year wage per year. Mandzukic was very close to moving to Qatar club Al Rayyan but that deal collapsed. Director Paratici told a leading media that they took a lot of time to consider Mandzukic's move to Qatar which did not materialise. He also stated that they are up for talks with clubs to offer Mandzukic in the winter transfer.

United legend Dimitar Berbatov has backed the Red Devils move to sign Mandzukic and went ahead to say that he can have a similar impact as Zlatan Ibrahimovic did in Old Trafford. Berbatov said that Manchester United have good depth in their talent pool but at the same time they need someone like Mandzukic and that he is a really good player. Though he has never played in England, Berbatov hopes that he will take no time to get into Premier League's rhythm.
