Shaqiri swaps Liverpool for Lyon after three years at Anfield

Xherdan Shaqiri has completed a transfer to Lyon, leaving Liverpool after three seasons and 45 games with the club.

It is the first time Shaqiri has played with a Ligue 1 club, after joining Liverpool in 2018 from Stoke City, and previously having stints with Basel, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

It's believed Lyon paid 9.5 million pounds for Shaqiri, making it a loss for Liverpool, who paid 13.5 million pounds to activate a release clause when he transfered from Stoke.
