Liverpool overcame Salzburg in a thrilling encounter on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. The match was held at Anfield, Liverpool's home ground. As per current UEFA Champions League Group E standings, Liverpool are ranked second while RB Salzburg are placed third.

  • The Spanish goalkeeper saved a plethora of powerful shots between the sticks. There was also a good save from Hee-Chan Hwang.
  • Though he might have narrowed the angle, it was well finished by Hwang.
  • Rating - 6/1

Trent Alexander-Arnold

  • Salzburg gave him plenty of space to work with.
  • He posed a real threat going forward, especially after the stunning delivery from the right which included pinpoint whipped cross to Andrew Robertson for the second goal.

Joe Gomez

  • Gomez was deputising for teammate Joel Matip.
  • There was a foul on Daka, but also a good tackle on Hwang.

Virgil van Dijk

  • Won a number of headers in the crucial moments.
