Verratti backs PSG to turnaround the tie in UCL second leg against Bayern

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has backed his side to perform well against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 match on Wednesday night.

PSG trail 1-0 from the first leg in Paris, but Verratti said he was hopeful that the combined experience of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe would boost their chances of reaching the quarter-finals.

"It's a very important game. We have played the first leg and now we have one more to go. We know we lost 1-0 at home in front of our fans and we know that gives them (Bayern Munich) a slight advantage. But we still have a lot of playing to do and if we want to qualify we have to play a great match here against a great team. But I see a lot of confidence in my team and we are ready to put on a great performance."

"We are up against a great team (Bayern Munich), and they have the same desire to qualify as we do. There will be many great players on the pitch tomorrow and I think we will enjoy it. It will be a great match and we are very happy to be here playing to qualify (for quarter-finals). Tomorrow the truth will come out on the pitch. We will show that we are good, we are strong and that we can win."

"As I said earlier it will be a tough match against a great team that is used to games like this. They are used to reaching  the final stages of the Champions League and they are ready to win. That is why, I say it again, we have to be in top form, the whole team, collectively and individually. With Kylian (Mbappe), Leo (Messi), who have a lot of great experience of playing in this type of match. I know that they will help us a lot."
