FULL TIME: England 6-1 Panama

90': The ball is swung in by Young, but somehow no England player gets the desired connection. Four minutes added on!

89': England get a free kick with just a minute of normal time to play.

84': It has all slowed down again! England, despite this humongous win, will be behind Belgium. A goal though, will change the complexion.

78': GOAL! Historic moment for Panama! A free kick from the left is taken and put in the box. Baloy is there to meet it, and he puts the ball in the back of the net. What a moment for Panama football!

76': Corner for Panama! Rodriguez does well on the left side, and puts a cross. Despite no pressure, Rose directs the ball towards the corner. HUGE MISS! The resulting delivery is taken towards the near post, where it is helped on by a Panama player. A golden opportunity for skipper Torres at the far post to get his nation's first ever goal, but he makes a hash of it.

73': Just over! Young takes the free kick, and Maguire heads it back into the danger area. Poor clearance from Panama defense lands the ball in the feet of Henderson. But the midfielder's volley is over.

72': Yellow card for Murillo. After losing the ball, he brings down Sterling and receives a booking.

70': Twin changes by Panama! Arroyo and Baloy replace Gomez and Barcenas. England also make their final change. Trippier is the man to be replaced by Rose.

66': First chance for Panama! Murillo is played behind the defense on the right side. He reaches to the ball before Pickford, but his chip is somehow kept out by the keeper, before the defenders clear it on the line.

63': Double substitution by England. Kane and Lingard have been taken off, and Vardy and Delph have replaced them. Panama also make their change. Godoy is replaced by Avila.

62': GOAL! Hat-trick for Kane in the most funniest of fashions. Loftus Cheek has the ball, and has an effort from 25 yards out. His weak shot hits the ankle of Kane and goes it the back of the net.

59': England have taken their foot of the peddle now. It is all very slow. Not the same urgency they showed in the first half.

53': Corner for England! Loftus-Cheek looks to get into the penalty area, but Escobar times his tackle perfectly.

51': Panama have made their way forward a couple of times in the half, but they just don't seem to have it in their attack to break the England defense.

Second half is underway!

HALF TIME: England 5-0 Panama

45': GOAL! England make it 5-0 before the first half. Kane has his second of the match, and fourth of the tournament!

43': PENALTY! Corner for England, and as the ball comes in, Kane is pulled all over by the defender.

42': We are witnessing an absolute carnage here. England are in the mood, and how! STAT: England score four in a match for the first time since 1966 World Cup.

40': GOAL! A training ground free kick routine does wonders for England! Trippier passes the ball to Henderson, who chips a ball into the box. Kane meets it with a header, and glances it towards Sterling, whose header is saved by the keeper. But Stones is on the spot to get his second.

38': It's game over, and sadly, World Cup over for Panama. The debutantes will head into their third game with nothing but pride to play for.

Wayne Rooney appreciates it, so does Rio Ferdinand!

35': GOAL! What a beauty from Lingard! The midfielder gets the ball on the left side, and then plays a lovely one-two with Sterling, and needs only touch before curling a beauty beyond the reach of Penedo. Absolute beauty!

32': Chance for Maguire! England get a free kick deep in Panama's half. Trippier is over it, and plays a ball deep in the box. Maguire is there to meet it, but his header hits the top of the net.

29': Good play by Panama. They pass the ball from one side to another really well, and get Rodriguez free on the left wing. But he lacks composure, as his cross-shot is wayward.

23': Yellow card for Loftus Cheek! The English midfielder concedes a foul in his own half, and gets a booking.

22': GOAL! Harry Kane steps up to take the spot kick, and hits to the keeper's left. The keeper guesses it correctly, but can do nothing about it!

19': PENALTY! A ball is played over the Panama defense for Lingard, but just as he is about to shoot, is pushed by the defender.

16': CLOSE! Panama almost get the equalizer. Barcenas gets the ball on the edge of the box, and curls an effort towards the goal. It's just wide, and had Pickford scrambling.

10': Yellow card for Cooper for a poor challenge on Lingard.

Gary Lineker is impressed!

8': GOAL! Trippier plays a decent ball in the box, and John Stones is free, and hits a powerful header past a hapless Penedo.

7': Corner for England! A long ball is played towards Trippier on the right side, but the Panama defender hackles it out.

5': Chance for Panama! They win the ball in the middle of the park, and move forward. The ball is played to Godoy who is free on the left side, but his effort is wayward.

4': Free kick for Panama on the left hand side. The referee has to calm Henderson down, who is animated with his decision.

3': Clash of heads early on. Lingard and Gomez are competing for the same ball in the air, and both the players are down. Lingard looks the more affected.

KICK OFF!

Here are the two starting line-ups. England have made just one change from the 2-1 win. Alli is replaced by Loftus-Cheek.

With Belgium having already booked their place in the round of 16, it's chance for England to do the same. And they will have to go through a Panama team. It will be an easier match as compared to the one against Tunisia, where Harry Kane scored a winner in the stoppage time.

The first round of fixtures of World Cup 2018 have ended, and they sprung in quiet a few surprises. Many of the teams, who headed into the tournament as favorites, were given harsh reality check. As for the underdogs, they have lit up the tournament with their heartwarming displays.

Russia kicked of the tournament with a thumping 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia in the first match of the competition. The other match in the Group A saw Uruguay beat Egypt 1-0 thanks to a late late goal by Jose Gimenez.

The Group B saw real excitement in the very first game, which arguably turned out to be the match of the tournament. UEFA Euro 2016 winners Portugal and World Cup 2010 champions Spain ended 3-3, and had every element of drama and action in it..Cristiano Ronaldo was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick, as he brought his team back from death to salvage a point.

In the other match of their group, Iran narrowly defeated Morocco 1-0.

One of the front-runners to claim the trophy, France were frustrated by Australia in a thrilling encounter, but they came out victorious 2-1 to a 80th minute own goal. There wasn't similar luck for Argentina and Brazil in their respective groups,as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Iceland and Switzerland respectively.

The shocker of the tournament came in the form of Germany's 1-0 defeat to Mexico. The 2014 champions were outplayed and outperformed by the South American side.

In Group G, Belgium comfortably beat debutantes Panama 3-0, but England needed a stoppage time winner to overcome a stubborn Tunisia side.

The final day of the first round of fixtures saw the biggest upsets. 2014's fairytale team Colombia were stunned 2-1 by Japan. And following that match, Poland, led by Robert Lewandowski, were surprisingly beaten 2-1 by Senegal.
