Head coaches Zinedine Zidane and Diego Simeone on Saturday considered the Spanish Super Cup final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid on Sunday. The two men also shared their thoughts on FC Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde is under scrutiny after the Catalan side lost to Atletico in the semi-finals.

Atletico Madrid rallied with two late goals to beat Barcelona 3-2 in a back-and-forth game on Thursday. Real Madrid defeated Valencia 3-1 in the first semi-final at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium on Wednesday. Atletico and Real Madrid made it to the tournament this year because the Spanish soccer federation debuted a "Final Four" format as part of a three-year lucrative deal to play in Saudi Arabia. Previously, only the Spanish league champion and the Spanish Copa del Rey (English: King's Cup) winner participated.
