Braves fall one short of MLB scoring record after 29-9 demolition of Marlins

The Atlanta Braves scored 29 runs against the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night, falling just one short of tying the major league record for most runs in a game.

Adam Duvall's seventh-inning grand slam gave host Atlanta a 29-9 lead, which ended up being the final score.

The 29 runs are tied for the second most in a game in the modern era (since 1900), just shy of the Texas Rangers' 30 against the Baltimore Orioles in 2007.

The 1955 White Sox and 1950 Red Sox also scored 29 runs in a game.
