This week's All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Dynamite saw Darby Allin defeat his arch-rival Jimmy Havoc to become the foremost contender for the AEW World Championship. Now, Allin will face Chris Jericho next week for the AEW World Championship. Jericho currently holds the title. Before Allin's win and subsequent title clash, Jericho was scheduled to defend his title against Cody Rhodes on AEW Full Gear. This will be the first time Jericho will be defending his AEW title. In August, he had defeated Hangman Page on All-Out to win the title and become the first-ever AEW champion.

In this week's match, Darby Allin and Jimmy Havoc brought down the house with their ferocious fight. The wrestlers threw some solid punches with Havoc landing a Tiger Driver 98 on his opponent. But Allin was in no mood to give in. He hit a stunner and coffin drop from the ropes to be the victor.

AEW News: title match

With the win, Allin set up a title match with Chris Jericho on next week's Dynamite. If Allin defeats Jericho, it will lead to a rematch with Cody Rhodes on November 9. Interestingly, Allin made his in-ring debut against Cody Rhodes at the AEW Fyter Fest. Allin first signed with AEW on April 12, 2019.

On the other hand, Chris Jericho introduced his newly formed 'inner-circle', which has Bellator star Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Ortiz, and Santana. When the crowd chanted 'We the people', one of Hager's former catchphrases from WWE days, Jericho called it 'stupid' and 'bad creative'.

Meanwhile, AEW fans are all excited about the Allin-Jericho fight. Ahead of the title clash, Allin has built momentum by defeating CIMA last week in a match for AEW Dark, defeating Havoc and drawing with Cody. His popularity and stock are both soaring. We are hoping next week's clash will live up to its star power hype.
