The second day of the NBA season will witness Philadelphia 76ers playing Boston Celtics on Thursday morning 5:30 AM (IST). 76ers who came up short last season along with Boston Celtics will be challenging for the Eastern Conference crown this season. The match will be played at Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia and telecast on the Sony Sports Network.

Philadelphia 76ers had an impressive campaign last season when they reached the semifinals of the Eastern Conference. The season came to an end as Toronto Raptors' Kawhi Leonard scored a last gasp winner in Game 7. 76ers come into the match having lost their final pre-season game.

Celtics also had a good start to their pre-season campaign by remaining unbeaten in their four games. While Kyrie Irving, Terry Rozier, and Al Horford have all departed. The team has added Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter to their roster.

For Boston Celtics, Tacko Fall will miss the game due to concussion protocol while Romeo Langford has been officially ruled out with a sore right knee for the opening NBA game.

With Kyrie Irving moving away to Brooklyn Nets in the off-season, Boston Celtics will rely on Kemba Walker to lead the team from the front. Walker, who averaged 25.6 points per game last season for the Charlotte Hornets, will be the team's primary scoring option.

Philadelphia 76ers have Joel Embiid as the team's best defender. He will also be coach Brett Brown's go-to man on offense. Embiid averaged 27.5 points and 13.6 rebounds last season and will be looking to improve on those numbers this season.
