Emiliano Grillo 63 opens up 4-shot lead at Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico

Grillo had five birdies in his first nine holes and added four more in his last seven to reach 13-under for the tournament, ahead of American pair Tony Finau and Tom Hoge on nine under.

Argentina's Emiliano Grillo shot an eight under par 63 - the round of the day - to open up a four shot lead at the halfway stage of the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Playa del Carmen, Mexico on Friday.Grillo had five birdies in his first nine holes and added four more in his last seven to reach 13-under for the tournament, ahead of American pair Tony Finau and Tom Hoge on nine under.

The overnight leader, Scotland's Russell Knox, is alone in fourth place on eight under, with a four-strong group led by Andy Ogletree tied for fifth a further shot back.World number three Justin Thomas is on three under par, but would have had a much better day had he not bogeyed three of his last 6 holes.
