IOC President on Tokyo COVID-19 measures
With a year to go until the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach admitted on Wednesday that much uncertainty still swirls around the event - due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

With a year to go until the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach admitted on Wednesday that much uncertainty still swirls around the event - due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
"...We have to prepare for multiple scenarios for the Olympic Games. We have to take all this into account - what could happen, what may happen?"
He said managing that impact is a "mammoth task."
The original date for the Opening Ceremony in Tokyo was July 24, 2020. It will now take place on July 23rd, 2021.
