NBA in India: 2019 tour dates, venue, tickets and schedule details

National Basketball Association (NBA) is coming to India with a first-of-its-kind game. Let’s take a look at the NBA India schedule, tickets and other details.

National Basketball Association (NBA) is USA’s premier basketball league. In October, two NBA teams, Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers will play a game in Mumbai. In August, the tickets for the NBA India Game went live on BookMyShow. Only a few tickets are available right now.

NBA in India: 2019 tour dates, venue, tickets and other details

The NBA India Games will feature Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers playing two preseason games on Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5 at the Dome, NSCI, SVP Stadium in Mumbai. This is the first time when teams from the American League will be playing in India. BookMyShow, in association with AEG, will manage the NBA India Games 2019. Once fans register, they will have a 3D layout out of the venue. VIP tickets will include opportunities to click photos and shoot free throws on the court. Ticket prices range from ₹4,500 to ₹85,000.

Sacramento Kings is under the leadership of a Mumbai-native. Currently, they have 2018 number two overall draft pick Marvin Bagley III, 2017 number five overall draft pick Marvin Bagley III, 2017's number five overall draft pick De'Aaron Fox and 2016's number six overall draft pick Buddy Hield (Bahamas). Pacers are under chairman and CEO Herb Simon. They feature 2018's NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo, 2016's NBA All-Rookie second team member Myles Turner and 2016's number 11 overall draft pick Domantas Sabonis (Lithuania).

US President Donald Trump jokes about visiting India to watch the NBA game

On Sunday, September 23, 2019, at the sold-out Howdy, Modi! event held in Houston, Texas, President Donald Trump asked PM Modi about a visit to India for the upcoming NBA India Game. He said that the USA is committed to ensuring that Indians have access to the best products worldwide. Referring to the NBA India event, President Trump asked PM Modi if he was invited. In jest, he joked with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to not to be surprised if he showed up.
