Car racing is one of the most toughest sport around, given the kind of danger a driver faces when he goes out racing. Driving the car at a speed of 150kmph or more, and even a slight touch can cause the biggest of destruction.

A number of accidents, both serious and fatal, have been witnessed over the years in the sport. Be it Nascar, Bike rally or Formula 1, accidents are prone to take place, given the competitiveness in which driving takes place.

On Sunday, one such accident took place which was nerve wracking to say the least. In the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, German driver Sophia Floersch suffered a devastating crash, which not left her injured, but also a fellow driver, two photographers and a Marshall.

As seen in the video, the car of Sophia flew in the air and crashed into a huge board outside the track. The magnitude of the accident was soc much that the car was broken into pieces, and the wiring surrounding the outside part of the track was shredded.

All the injured were immediately taken to the hospital, and fortunately, they all had sustained not much serious injuries. Sophia, who was feared to be the worst affected, took to Twitter to let people know that she is fine.

"Just wanted to let everybody know that I am fine but will be going into Surgery tomorow morning. Thanks to the @fia and @hwaag_official @MercedesAMGF1 who are taking great care of me. Thanks to everybody for the Supporting messages. Update soon," her message read.
