An appointment-only testing site for COVID-19 opened at the FedEx Field - home to National Football League (NFL) side the Washington Redskins - in Landover, Maryland on Monday.

Sections of the parking bays, which surround the American Football stadium, were roped off and large medical tents had been set up.

A large presence of medical staff and members of the Maryland National Guard started to screen sick patients on Monday.

The process for obtaining an appointment at the COVID-19 testing site starts with a telehealth visit.

With a doctor's permission, patients can go to the testing site at a designated time, but coronavirus tests are only guaranteed for conditions that fall under strict CDC (Centers for Disease Control) guidelines.
