Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic organisers said that there are no plans to postpone or cancel the Games due to the coronavirus, but worry a climate of fear is making it difficult to stem the outbreak.

Speaking at the end of the latest International Paralympic Committee project review on Thursday, IPC spokesman Craig Spence said fear is spreading quicker than the virus, driven by what the World Health Organization described as an 'infodemic' of rumours and poor information.

Tokyo 2020 CEO Toshiro Muto said the Olympics remain on track and they are committed to having a safe and secure Games, but said a task force has been created to handle any issues arising from the coronavirus.
