PKL 2019: Bengal Warriors' road to playoffs, performance and results

PKL playoffs for season seven will begin October 14 and go on till October 19. Let us take a look at Bengal Warriors' journey to the upcoming playoffs.

Bengal Warriors were the second team to qualify for the upcoming PKL playoffs on September 22. For PKL 2019, the top six teams have qualified. Dabang Delhi KC, Haryana Steelers, U Mumba, Bengaluru Bulls and UP Yoddha are the other teams that made it to the playoffs. As per the current PKL 2019 standings, Bengal Warriors are ranked first with 83 points.

PKL 2019: Bengal Warriors spectacular journey to the Pro Kabaddi League playoffs

Pro Kabaddi League season 7 has been the most successful PKL campaign for Bengal Warriors. Their captain, Maninder Singh, has carried the team on his shoulders this season. Their biggest win this season was when they defeated UP Yoddha 17-48 on July 24. Since then, Bengal Warriors have only lost five matches this season. They have 14 wins and five losses. With Maninder and K Prapanjan on their team, Bengal Warriors have a 52 per cent success rate while raiding. They ended their league games with a 33-29 victory against Tamil Thalaivas on Wednesday, October 9. They also overtook Dabang Delhi KC and advanced to the first spot on the PKL 2019 points table.

Skipper Maninder has been their MVP for this season with 205 raid points to his name. He has scored ten super 10s this season, with an average of above 15 raid points for the last five matches played. Prapanjan, who has 99 raid points this season, has also been crucial for Bengal Warriors to maintain a lead. All-rounder Mohammad Nabibakhsh, who has debuted this season, has a total of 107 points to his name. Baldev Singh, their right corner defender, is their top defender with 62 tackle points. He has scored six High 5s to his name for PKL 2019.
