PKL 2019: Desperate Puneri Paltan face Dabang Delhi K.C. at Panchkula

The Pro Kabaddi League 2019 is nearing the business end of the league stages as Puneri Paltan face Dabang Delhi K.C. at the Tau Devilal Sports Complex, Panchkula on Sunday, 29 September 2019. The 113th match of the season is one of the three matches that Pune have remaining in their league fixtures. Delhi sit comfortably at the top of the table having already qualified for the playoffs by dominating the league stages. Pune are currently 8th on the points table with 42 points to their name, if they win all their remaining matches - they have a theoretical chance of being able to qualify for the playoffs with 57 points.

A desperate situation for Pune

Delhi are already at 77 points and have four matches remaining in their league. They won their last match to get to No 1 on the points table. The fact that they have only lost two of their 18 matches in this season is pretty reflective of how good the team has been. Their top performer has been Raider Naveen Kumar who has scored a mammoth 222 raid points for them this season. Defender Ravinder Pahal has earned 49 tackle points for the team as well.

Pune have been having a tough time in the league. They have only won 6 of their 19 matches, so far. Their best raider has been Pankaj Mohite who has contributed to the team by earning 110 raid points. Captain Po Surjeet Singh has earned 51 tackle points for the team.

Their earlier matches

The two teams met earlier in the season where Delhi won narrowly by being two points ahead of Pune. They faced Jaipur in their last match where Jaipur finally won their first match after nine losses. Although Pune tried to script a comeback in the beginning of the second half, Jaipur stayed ahead of them. Delhi faced Pardeep Narwal's Patna Pirates and handed them a loss as they elevated themselves to number one on the points table. The coverage for Match 113 will start at 7 PM on 29 September 2019.
