UFC had one of the most iconic moments till date when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson put the BMF belt around Jorge Masvidal’s waist at the UFC 244 main event with US President Donald Trump in attendance. Though the controversial conclusion of the much-awaited fight made UFC fans upset, they liked WWE Superstar-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson’s presence in the main event at least. Well, it doesn't count Nate Diaz, as the Stockton Gangsta did not like the idea of bringing up ‘The Rock’ for presenting the BMF belt and took a dig at him in the post-fight press conference. Dwayne Johnson has finally given his reaction to Nate Diaz’s statement in an interview with Ariel Helwani and he is clearly not upset.
In the post-fight press conference, Diaz jokingly abused Johnson. Both, Jorge Masvidal and Dwayne Johnson are from Miami and Diaz felt that ‘The Rock’ was taking Jorge Masvidal’s side all this while. Diaz also added that Mike Tyson would have been the perfect man to present the BMF belt since he is the 'baddest' man on the planet.
On the other side, Dwayne Johnson is absolutely not surprised by Nate Diaz’s statement and he has accepted it sportingly. The Rock said that he has no issues with Nate Diaz speaking out his mind. In the recent interview with Ariel Helwani, ‘The Rock’ said “I wasn’t surprised at Nate’s comments because that’s the Nate we all know and love.”
Dwayne Johnson said that he shares a deep connection with Jorge Masvidal. Both of them are from Miami and that there are a lot of fighters and coaches they know. The Rock further added that there are a lot of gyms they hit together, so he is clearly okay with Nate Diaz’s statement. According to Dwayne Johnson, he has been totally unbiased throughout the promotions of UFC 244 and did not want to reflect the Miami preference in the fight.
