Geeta Phogat, a freestyle wrestler who won India's first ever gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2010, took to her Instagram handle to announce her pregnancy with a serene and a stunning picture. Flaunting her baby bump, Geeta Phogat stood against the hills and used a hashtag 'Motherhood Rising'. Within moments, the picture went viral on social media and wishes started pouring in. Pawan Kumar (also known as Pawan Saroha) too couldn't resist the excitement and posted an adorable picture with wife Geeta expressing his joy. For those unaware, he too represented India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and later at the 2014 Asian Games in the 86 kg weight class. Talking about their love story, the two dated for around 4 years and then decided to tie the knot in 2016.

For those unaware, the film 'Dangal' starring Aamir Khan was based on the Phogat sisters wherein Fatima Sana Shaikh's character was based on Geeta Phogat and younger self was played by Zaira Wasim while Sanya Malhotra played Babita Kumari's (also a gold medalist in wrestling) role. Geeta married wrestler Pawan Kumar in 2016. As soon as Geeta announced the big news on social media, actress Hina Khan was among the first ones to congratulate the lady. She wrote: "Congratulations Geet to you and Pawan... God bless you my darling.. so so so happy for you.. Aum Ganeshaya Namaha!"

WHO IS GEETA PHOGAT?

She is the daughter of wrestler and Dronacharya Award recipient Mahavir Singh Phogat. Geeta is the first Indian female wrestler to have qualified for the Olympic Summer Games. They are in total four sisters — Babita Kumari, Ritu Phogat (International level wrestler) and Sangita Phogat (also a wrestler).

GEETA PHOGAT'S DEBUT RAMP WALK 2019

Geeta Phogat believes a woman can only look beautiful if she is healthy and strong. The Commonwealth gold medallist, who made her ramp debut with designer Rina Singh's label 'Eka' at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019, said women must focus on developing their inner strength. "It was my first experience of walking the ramp. But it was scarier than going into wrestling ring. It was a nice experience. It was great to meet so many strong and inspiring people," Geeta told reporters here post the show.

"Inner strength is very important. If you are not strong from inside you can never look beautiful from outside. My aim was to come here and give this message," she added.
