Cedric Alexander was defeated by AJ Styles, who retained the US title at WWE Clash of Champions on 15th September. AJ Styles connected a combination of ‘Phenomenal Forearm’ and the ‘hit Style Clash’ which earned him the victory. The match started with an enthusiastic audience in North Carolina as Cedric Alexander entered. AJ Styles, the WWE United States Champion came along with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and the other two seemed like they were just there to walk AJ to the ring.

Cedric Alexander called out for the challenge against AJ Styles because of the issue created a couple of weeks back. AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked Cedric Alexander backstage out of frustration. The trio attacked exactly before the quarter-final match between Cedric and Baron Corbin. While Alexander fought fearlessly, he fell short against Corbin, so he was naturally out for revenge against The OC.

The Revenge

As the bell rang, Cedric started with his first move catching AJ Styles with a ‘Big Michinoku Driver’. AJ managed to escape but Cedric brought him back and struck a big kick to the head taking a close two count. Cedric attacked by kicking AJ in the head and dropped him. Cedric ‘springboarded’ up but AJ pushed him off the top rope, down on the side. This was the time when AJ Styles decided to give it all back. AJ dropped Cedric's neck on the apron with a ‘big stiff suplex’. AJ grabbed Cedric for a Styles Clash on the floor and nailed it.
