WWE Raw is one of the most popular professional wrestling television programmes in the world. It is also known as Monday Night Raw. WWE Raw first debuted on January 11, 1993. It is one of the most prominent flagship properties of the WWE brand, the other one being Smackdown. World Wrestling Entertainment has seen a number of transitions over the years and from being WWF - World Wrestling Federation to being WWE, there have been a number of changes within the brand.

For many fans in India, WWE Raw is far more than just professional wrestling entertainment. It is a bonafide institution and a long tradition that has lasted for decades and across multiple generations. WWE Raw captivated audiences in India since the very beginning. Ahead of the new season, let's take a look at the top three moments of the 1990s WWE Raw, and how a few moments changed how the brand was perceived.

3. Arrival of the Greats 

Diesel, Razor Ramon, Ric Flair, Sid, Lex Luger, and Vader. These are some of the athletes who participated in the greatest era of WWE Raw.  Although they were very popular, some of them developed issues with the top management. Lex Luger, for example, was replaced with Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior as the top powerhouse. With time, tastes changed and fans were looking for a different kind of hero, so WWE came with some new top faces.

2. New Faces

Everyone has heard of the names Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker. They are well-known, not just amongst die-hard WWE fans, but also by non-followers of the game. The Undertaker is quite possibly the most popular of all wrestlers. He was the man who never died and came back from the dead to scare his opponentsThe Undertaker started out in the year 1990 and, less than one year later, he defeated none other than Hulk Hogan for the then WWF Title.

1. Monday Night Raw

WWE is the largest professional wrestling company in the world. The credit for its popularity goes to Monday Night Raw. The show debuted on January 11, 1993, and has since been considered a flagship show of WWE. Monday Night Raw boasted of more high-profile matches than on the other show. The likes of Triple H, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Kurt Angle made the brand what it is today.
