Five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova says she is pregnant.
Sharapova, who retired from tennis in February 2020, delivered the news via a social media post on Tuesday, also her 35th birthday.
On her post, she wrote, "Precious beginnings!!!" adding: "Eating birthday cake for two has alwasy been my specialty".
Sharapova had announced her engagement to businessman Alexander Gilkes in December 2020.
