Maria Sakkari reaches last 16 with straight sets win over Amanda Anisimova

Greek number 15 seed Maria Sakkari cruised into the last 16 at the US Open in New York on Saturday with a comfortable 6-3, 6-1 victory over Amanda Anisimova of the United States, seeded 22.

Sakkari will face the winner of the eagerly anticipated all-American tie between Serena Williams and Sloane Stephens for a place in the quarter-finals.
