Medvedev eases past Shapovalov to earn first win in Laver Cup debut

U.S. Open champion Daniil Medvedev of Russia gave Team Europe a 6-0 lead in singles matches with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Denis Shapovalov of Canada on Saturday (25 September).

It was Medvedev's first win in his debut Laver Cup and his first match since winning the US Open.

The first team to reach 13 points wins the Laver Cup. Each victory is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday, three on Sunday.
