Andy Murray fought back from a set down and 0-3 in the third to beat Robin Haase of the Netherlands in the first round of the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam on Monday.

Former world number one Murray, now 123 in the ATP rankings, lost the first set in 34 minutes after twice dropping his serve and had to save two break points in the second set at 3-3 before forcing a tiebreak and taking it 7-2.

The 33 year-old Briton then fell behind in the decider before reeling off a run of six games to close out a 2-6, 7-6(2), 6-3 victory in just over two and-a-half hours.

He'll next face either Australian Open quarter-finalist Andrey Rublev of Russia, the number four seed, or American qualifier Marcos Giron of the United States.
