Paire, Goffin and Tsitsipas win in first day of UTS second weekend

Stefanos Tsitsipas, David Goffin and Benoit Paire comfortably won their matches in the first day of the second weekend of the Patrick Mouratoglou's Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) on Saturday.

Paire opened with a 3-1 (11-17, 17-12, 15=14, 14-13) aganst fellow Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

Goffin had an easier match against young Australian Alexei Popyrin, who he defeated 4-0 (20-9, 21-6, 13-11, 15-10).

In the last match of the day session, world number Tsitsipas beat Germany's Dustin Brown 3-1 (12-14, 18-13, 16-11, 15-10).

In the night session, Italy's Matteo Berrettini will face Spain's Feliciano Lopez while Austria's Dominic Thiem will meet France's Richard Gasquet.
