Serena Williams said she played her 'best match' of the tournament so far, after an impressive 6-3, 6-3 win over Simona Halep at the Australian Open quarter-finals in Melbourne on Tuesday.

The stunning performance means Williams is through to her 40th Grand Slam semi-final.

The 39-year-old will play Naomi Osaka for a place in the final, the first Grand Slam meeting between the iconic pair since their notorious US Open final in 2018, when Williams received a game penalty for verbally abusing umpire Carlos Ramos.
