Tennis enthusiasts across the globe would be anxiously waiting to see American tennis superstar Serena Williams’ attempt to make a comeback to the tennis court after having her first child, though it would take her some time. Fans and tennis superstars alike believe this would be the ‘Mother of all comebacks.’

Former world number one Kim Clijsters made an astonishing return to professional tennis, clinching the US Open title in 2009, just 18 months after giving birth to her first baby. After this she went on to win three of her four Grand Slam titles, a feat quite rare. Will Serena be able to replicate the same ?

“The success of every woman should be the inspiration to another. We should raise each other up. Make sure you’re very courageous: be strong, be extremely kind and above all be humble,” - Serena Williams.

For Serena Williams, pressure is a privilege -- a true testament to the fact that she was pregnant when she lifted the coveted Australian Open trophy in January. The 23-time Grand Slam champion is an unstoppable athlete and an inspiration not only to women but also to men around the world.

Champions are defined not by their wins, but by how they overcome obstacles. At 35 years of age, Williams still has the hanker and aspires to win more Grand Slam titles. For a champion athlete the period between competing, when the athlete is at the peak and the period when there is layoff  is like a deep abyss at the bottom of which one finds mental strength and support. Williams’ journey in the world of tennis perhaps would go down in history and what remains, is a challenge for her to win more trophies after motherhood.

The poster girl of international tennis has defied all odds and has come a long way to be one of the greatest woman tennis player the world has ever seen. Till the time Serena Williams makes a comeback to competitive tennis, let us just sit back, bask in the glory of this great player and inspire the future generations to be like her.
