Vasisht upsets top-seed Kaza Vinayak Sharma to win title

Qualifier Vasisht Cherukupalli defeated top-seed Kaza Vinayak Sharma of Andhra Pradesh 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in the men's singles final of the P V Viswanath Memorial AITA ranking tennis tournament conducted by MPTA at the KTC courts on Saturday. Vashisht showed a lot of determination to outlast the fancied Sharma and lift the title. With the win, Vashisht denied Sharma a double after the AP player had captured the doubles title on Friday. Sai Samhitha outplayed Nithyaraj Baburaj 6-1, 6-1 in the women's singles final.
