With Stone Cold Steve Austin appearing on WWE far more in recent months than he has in years, this has left the WWE Universe wondering if the Texas Rattlesnake is looking for another potential fight later in his career. Steve Austin only fueled the speculations of his return when he admitted being physically fit to return to the ring for one last fight.
The last time fans witnessed Stone Cold Steve Austin compete inside the squared ring was way back at WrestleMania 19 where he lost to The Rock in what many called a "passing of the torch."
Sure, he makes special appearances to the ring on numerous occasions and hands beatings to superstars the fans love to hate, but his fight against The Rock was officially his last as an in-ring competitor and the last time he wore a pair of trunks on WWE TV.
With Stone Cold Steve Austin being away from active competition, Seth Rollins who is currently on a roll, recently took it upon himself to remind Steve that WrestleMania is not far away, teasing a potential showdown against The Rattle Snake.
This is what Seth Rollins wrote on his Twitter while responding to the official handle of WWE on Fox who had posted a question asking fans who they would like to see Stone Cold Steve Austin have one more match against.
Mania ain’t that far away.... 🤔 https://t.co/o8N8gS9U1m— Seth Rollins (@WWERollins) October 16, 2019
Seth Rollins has earned quite an accolade after defeating Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam for the WWE Universal title. Seth Rollins is still the reigning champion and was last seen feuding against 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt on WWE RAW.
Before the fans get their hopes up, they should note that Stone Cold Steve Austin has been called out in the past and offered matches by the WWE. Rumours were rife of Steve Austin returning for a fight against CM Punk when he was the hottest star in the game, but none of that ever happened.
While there is still a glimmer of hope of seeing Steve Austin in a pair of trunks all while throwing hands with Seth Rollins, only time will tell if he answers the callout or returns a null response.
