WWE News: Wrestler Jake Atlas has reportedly been signed

In today's WWE updates, we are coming to know that the WWE have signed an openly gay superstar who goes by the name of Jake Atlas. Read further for details.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) are about to sign Jake Atlas, reports suggest. Atlas is openly gay and this will be the second time WWE is signing an openly gay superstar since Darren Young, who was popular for his part in the Nexus group. Atlas will reportedly join the WWE Performance Centre in January.

Atlas boldly informed Stephanie McMahon about his dream

Jake Atlas, real name Kenny Marquez, was a part of a reality show in 2018 when he met Stephanie McMahon on its set. Atlas openly informed Stephanie about his sexual orientation and his desire to be a WWE Superstar. Atlas was persistent enough to send Stephanie an E-mail asking her about the WWE tryouts and surely enough, the Chief Brand Officer of the WWE replied.

Multiple wrestling news agencies are now reporting that Atlas has signed with the company and will be joining the WWE Performance Center in January of 2020. It is also reported that Jake was seen at the Friday Night SmackDown Premiere on October 4. It has also been reported that Jake was approached by WWE's rival promotion, All-Elite Wrestling (AEW), but he was not offered a proper contract.

Atlas has had a career that has been full of impact in Independent wrestling promotions across the United States. He has performed at popular wrestling promotions like Defy Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Guerilla. He was also the "Southern California Rookie of the Year" in 2017. The superstar's highlight reel is embedded below. Jake is not the first LGBTQ talent to have stepped into the WWE ring. Popular superstars like Sonya Deville, Darren Young, Chris Kanyon, Rosa Mendes have also come out as part of the LGBTQ community.
