Dallas Mavericks Injury Report: Will Luka Doncic and Dereck Lively play in Game 5 vs Timberwolves?

Here is the injury report for the Dallas Mavericks heading into Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals in NBA Playoffs against Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Dallas Mavericks were left frustrated in Game 4 at home as they lost to Minnesota Timberwolves 105-100 and failed to close out the Western Conference Finals series. 

Now they head back to Minneapolis and the target center for Game 5 of their NBA Playoffs series. Up 3-1, the job is far from done for the Dallas Mavericks and they have some key injury concerns to address as well with knocks to star player Luka Doncic and Dereck Lively II.

Dereck Lively II was a huge miss in the Game 4 against the Wolves as he sat out due to a neck sprain. While, Luka Doncic was far from his best as he struggled to get going and was unable to do his best to prevent the defeat. So will Luka Doncic and Dereck Lively II play agaisnt the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5, here is an update.

Luka Doncic Injury Update 

Luka Doncic has been simply sensational in this playoffs series and throughout the Dallas Mavericks playoff run but he has been playing through pain in the entire post season.

Luka Doncic has been struggling with a right knee sprain and a left ankle soreness and he has been listed as questionable to play in Game 5 against Minnesota.

This shouldn't come as a huge concern to the Dallas Mavericks and their supporters as Luka Doncic has been playing the entire playoffs by being questionable. So that trend is set to continue.

Dereck Lively II Injury Update 

Dallas Mavericks rookie center sensation Dereck Lively II has emerged as a vital cog for his side as the season has progressed. His rim protection combined with offensive energy is one of the biggest reasons Dallas Mavericks are in the position they are in.

In a massive boost to the Dallas Mavericks, Lively has been upgraded to Questionable in the injury report and is expected to get minutes in the all important Game 5 clash. 

Another boost for the Mavericks was the return of Maxi Kleber. Maxi Kleber did play in Game 4 loss but was hesitant to take three point shots due to still feeling uncomfortable from his AC joint separation.
