Aaron Finch to lead Northern Superchargers in The Hundred next year
Australian cricketer Aaron Finch is all set to lead the Northern Superchargers in next year’s ‘The Hundred’. The inaugural edition will start from July 2020.

Australian limited-overs captain Aaron Finch is all set to lead the Northern Superchargers in next year’s ‘The Hundred’. The Hundred is a highly anticipated ECB-promoted cricket tournament which will commence in July 2020. The upcoming 100-ball cricket tournament will be the newest format to join the game and the inaugural edition will include eight city-based franchise teams. It will be contested by both men’s and women’s teams, which will include local English players as well as overseas superstars. Aaron Finch was roped in by the Superchargers through the draft conducted on October 20.

Aaron Finch to lead Northern Superchargers in ‘The Hundred’
The right-handed explosive opening batsman is currently leading Australia in the home T20I series against Pakistan. The cricketer has loads of limited-overs experience as Finch has played 119 ODIs and 57 T20Is for the Australian team. Finch was also part of the Australian World Cup-winning squad in 2015. In T20s, Finch has represented seven different IPL teams and he also plays for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash. With stints at Surrey and Yorkshire, the cricketer also has experience of playing T20 cricket in English conditions.

Finch will be leading the likes of Ben Stokes, Ben Foakes, Adil Rashid, David Willey and his Australian teammate Chris Lynn in ‘The Hundred’. He will also be joined by former Australian coach Darren Lehmann, who will be coaching the Superchargers in the inaugural edition. When asked about his team’s composure, Finch said that his side has a good mixture of quality local players and overseas cricketers.

Pakistan tour of Australia 2019
Australia are currently hosting Pakistan for a three-match T20I series and two Test matches. Finch led Australia’s run-chase in the opening T20I with a quick-fire 37* from just 16 balls. The match, however, was abandoned due to continuous rains. Australia won the second match by 7 wickets at the Manuka Oval. The final game of the series will be played at the Perth Stadium on November 8.
