Afghanistan Cricket Board had sanctioned three cricketers for their non-compliance with the official central contract. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqi requested to be released from the central contract pool. The sanctions barred them from participating in any T20 leagues around the world.

ACB refused to grant the players' request and decided to not issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to them for the next two years and also delayed their central contract talks. Now, Melbourne Renegades left the spinner out of their squad for their match against Melbourne Stars. Naveen And Farooqi reportedly approached the ACB with their renewed intentions to feature for their national team and have also been included in the T20I series against UAE but Mujeeb couldn't find his place.
Renegades issued a statement terming Mujeeb'somission as a change to his NOC status. It read, “Mujeeb Ur Rahman has also been removed from the squad after a change to his No-Objection Certificate (NOC) conditions made him unavailable for the match.”
earlier they stated that they hadn't received any communication and will continue to support the player. The Melbourne Renegades are aware of the matter between Mujeeb Ur Rahman and the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
"The club has received no communication that Mujeeb’s availability for the BBL could change from original plans.
"Mujeeb remains available for the Melbourne Renegades’ important match against Perth Scorchers at Optus Stadium.
“Mujeeb is a world class player and a popular member of the squad, and the club will continue to support him for the rest of the BBL season.”
Devoid of a NOC means. Mujeeb's participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League will now be in severe doubt. The Afghanistan player was picked by KKR at the IPL auction and was all set to don the purple jersey for the first time.
