BCCI unveils Team India squad for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024
Harmanpreet Kaur has been named the team's captain, while Smriti Mandhana has been picked as her deputy for the marquee ICC event.
On Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the Team India squad for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, slated to be held in the UAE starting October 3. Harmanpreet Kaur has been named the team's captain, while Smriti Mandhana has been picked as her deputy.
India are part of Group A along with Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand. India are scheduled to play their opening group-stage match against New Zealand on October 4. India will then face off against their arch-rivals Pakistan on October 6. The highly-anticipated clash will take place at Dubai International Stadium.

The Women's T20 World Cup 2024 was originally scheduled to be held in Bangladesh. However, the ICC was forced to shift the tournament out of the country due to political and civil unrest.
