The English National Cricket Team had a forgettable campaign this year, as the defending champions failed to reach the semifinal spot. Now that the World Cup saga is in the rear-view mirror, Captain Ben Stokes can address a longstanding issue he has been dealing with on his left knee. The English cricket recently underwent surgery and is now undergoing the rehabilitation process.

English captain Ben Stokes takes action over his chronic knee issue

Ahead of the ODI World Cup, Ben Stokes made his intentions clear that he will undergo knee surgery after England's World Cup Campaign. The issue was chronic, but he played it through their CWC campaign.

Stokes went back to England to undertake the process but had to wait until notable surgeon Andy Williams was available. The surgeon has operated on cricketers like Chris Woakes and is one of the most regarded among the sports fraternity.

When will Ben Stokes return to action?

While the chronic knee issue will take quite a while to heal, Stokes is not eager to miss out on much of the action. While he has opted out of the IPL 2024 season to look over his fitness, the English Captain revealed his intentions to take part in the test series vs India, which will take place from January 2024. 

Ben Stokes aims to return as an all-rounder player after his rehabilitation process. He was in a limited capacity as a bowler this summer but intends to deliver his best by the year's summer.
