The right-arm bowler, who has only recently returned to the cricketing scene after a lengthy injury layoff, may potentially miss India's upcoming visit to South Africa. Chahar told reporters outside Mithraj Hospital that he has informed Team India head coach Rahul Dravid and the selectors of his resolve to support his father until he is fully recovered. Deepak Chahar said:

"We got him to the hospital on time. Else, it could have been dangerous. His condition is better at the moment. People were asking, why I didn't play the final T20I against Australia. For me, my father is very important. He made me the player I am. I cannot leave him in this condition and couldn't go anywhere,"

"That's why I am staying with my father and once he is out of danger, I will start my journey to South Africa. I have talked to Rahul (Dravid) sir and the selectors. Right now, my father's condition is better,"

According to several media outlets, Lokendrasingh suffered a stroke while in Aligarh for a wedding. The family first considered sending him to a hospital in Delhi, but they encountered difficulties in doing so.

The hospital's chairman, Dr. Rajendra Varshney, told the media that Lokendrasingh's health had gotten worse, stressing that he was a patient with diabetes and high blood pressure. Dr. Varshney did, however, also provide consolation, saying that the former Air Force officer was no longer in danger. The scenario was made more complicated by his pre-existing health conditions, but the medical update provides a more positive picture.
