Ravindra Jadeja’s reaction to Virat Kohli’s one-handed stunner goes viral

Opting to bowl first in the WI vs IND 1st ODI, India brilliantly restricted West Indies to a meager total of 114 runs before the completion of allotted overs. During the 18th over of the 1st innings, Romario Shepherd was dismissed off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery after Virat Kohli pulled off one of his best catches in recent years. Jadeja delivered a tossed-up delivery off the stump, as Shepherd looked to go behind the ball turning away from him, it instead took the outside edge.

The ball stayed low, going away from the second slip, but Kohli dived to his right and completed the sharp one-handed catch. This was Jadeja’s third wicket of the match, as the Windies were reduced to 96/6. Kohli’s catch was quick to go viral among fans and received a reaction from the bowler.

"I take the catches when others bowl"

In a video shared by BCCI, Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav spoke about their chronicles in the series opener as the former shed his thoughts on Kohli’s catch. “The ball was spinning off the wicket. Usually, it's the other way round. I take the catches when others bowl, now, someone took such a great catch off mine! It was a great catch, low and sharp. He (Virat Kohli) didn't get much time, so it was great. Even Shubman (Gill) took a good catch. On such wickets, if fielders do well, your confidence also gets boosted,” said Jadeja.
