Robin Uthappa had an off day against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. The veteran Indian batsman struggled to get going as he played a slow innings for his side. Uthappa played a maiden off Mitchell McClenaghan in the 11th over. He scored 40 runs which included a boundary and three maximums. However, it came at a not-so-impressive strike rate of 85.11.

The 2007 World T20 winner was trolled on social media for his slow innings in a do-or-die encounter. However, there was one person who backed him and it was Harsha Bhogle.

The 'Voice of Indian Cricket' Harsha Bhogle came out in support of Uthappa by posting a series of tweets.

He posted another tweet where he backed Uthappa by saying that his struggle came on a big day. He added that the KKR batsman was in quicksand and the harder he tried the worst it got for him.

The 57-year old then said that everybody has bad days and they have all failed as well, before adding that mightier have had forgettable days on bigger stages.

Bhogle received mixed reactions for his tweets. There were some people who did not agree with the star commentator.
