Since these awards have been conventionally won by either the highest run-scorer of the tournament or the leading wicket-taker, therefore, Virat Kohli (711*) and Mohammed Shami (23 wickets) have the most realistic of winning the award. However, as Adam Zampa is just one wicket behind Shami, he could also present his case in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final.
