India on Thursday defeated South Africa in the second Test of their two-match series in Cape Town. India won the match by 7 wickets to level the contest 1-1. This is the first time India won a Test match at Newland, Cape Town. Mohammed Siraj was named the player of the match for his figures of 6/15.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, South Africa were bowled out for a mere 55 runs thanks to a beautiful spell by Mohammed Siraj. India then scored 153 runs in reply with Virat Kohli hitting 46 runs. South Africa posted 176 runs in their second innings as Aiden Markram smashed 106 runs and Jasprit Bumrah picked up a fifer.
