IND vs ZIM T20Is: It is a new dawn and a start of new era for India's T20I team. Their batting stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have announced their respective retirements from the shortest format of the game and now the onus is on the young guns to take the team forward. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma couldn't have asked for a better ending. The curtains on their T20I careers came down in a glorious way with both the stalwarts bowing out of the format as world champions.
Skipper Shubman Gill Announces Big Change In Post Rohit-Kohli Era
After Team India won their second T20I World Cup, Virat Kohli said that he believes that the youngsters will take Indian cricket forward. Kohli also added that India has cricketing talent in abundance and now they need to take care of India in the shortest international format. Young Team India's first assignment comes against Zimbabwe, an opponent they might not be too wary away. India are scheduled to play 5 T20Is with the series starting on July 6, 2024. India have three quality openers in their squad which includes the likes of Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma. Skipper Shubman in the pre-match press conference cleared the air around three specialist openers and gave a hint about India's batting order.

The largest democracy in the world broke into wild celebrations as the 'Men in Blue' clinched the T20I World Cup for the second time. But soon, the fans were hit by a truckload of sadness and emotions ran high as both Virat and Rohit announced that they had made their final appearance for India in the T20Is. Virat went on to say that it was an open secret and it shouldn't be surprising at all. Rohit Sharma too, while attending the post-match press conference said that there was no better way to bid goodbye to the T20I format.
