Naveen-ul-Haq faced severe criticism for his Instagram post after Virat Kohli-spat

Naveen posted a story of mangoes on Instagram as he was watching the Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians match. Naveen's timing of posting coincided with Virat Kohli's dismissal against MI as he could only manage just one run in the crucial match. He later faced the wrath of the fans for the post as it happened incidentally after LSG's IPL clash with RCB. Virat and Naveen were involved in a spat which later took centre stage. Former LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir too had a war of words and later Virat, Naveen and Gambhir had to pay a hefty fine for their behaviour.

Naveen-ul-Haq clarified the ‘mango’ Instagram post during IPL 2023

But now the Afghan intern national insisted he didn't mean to undermine Kohli and was just enjoying mangoes which were brought by the LSG's logistics team. In a recent video posted by LSG, he said, “I had told Dhaval bhai (LSG team logistics) that I wanted to eat mangoes. And he got mangoes that night itself. When we went to Goa, he brought mangoes. So I was sitting in front of the screen and eating mangoes. There was no picture or anything (of Kohli), it was a Mumbai Indians player on the screen. So I wrote 'sweet mangoes' and everyone took it in a different way. So even I didn't say anything, I just left it. I thought it was mango season, so people's shops should also do well."
