Shakib Al Hasan said he did not put his name in the IPL this year as he wants to dedicate all his time to the national team. Shakib revealed that his manager entered his name in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Draft but he asked him to withdraw it, saying that he would sacrifice the franchise tournaments for the Bangladesh team.

"I did not give my name in the IPL, and when my manager entered my name in the PSL, I told him to withdraw it. I plan to give all this time to the national team because I will sacrifice the franchise tournaments that I used to play," Shakib Al Hasan said during an event.
