'Smith will be unsold but THIS player will break all-time record': Moody makes audacious prediction
Former Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody made a very bold prediction ahead of the IPL auction which will take place in Dubai on Tuesday.

The Indian Premier League auction is knocking on the door as ten franchises will be involved in an intense bidding war. A whopping 333 players will be up for grabs as the much anticipated IPL auction is set to return in a grand manner. The event will take place in Dubai on Tuesday.

Tom Moddy makes a big prediction on IPL 2024 auction
Several marquee players will go under the hammer as the franchises have released some of the big names in order to reshuffle their ranks ahead of IPL 2024. Several Aussie players will also hit the auction and some of them were part of the 2023 World Cup winning squad very recently. Former Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody predicted some big moves in the IPL auction.

The former Aussie cricketer insisted fast bowler Mitchell Starc will fetch the highest amount in the auction while Steve Smith will remain unsold. In an interaction with ESPN Cricinfo, he said, “Steve Smith will be unsold and Mitchell Starc will break the all-time record for IPL auctions which is currently held by Sam Curran for Rs 18.5 crore. I think he will go beyond that."
He also added, “Shahrukh Khan, I think, will be picked by CSK and it won’t be far from what he had been released for which was around Rs 9 crore."

Gujarat Titans will have a lot to spend for in the auction
Gujarat Titans who parted ways with their former captain Hardik Pandya in the trade window, will enter the auction with the biggest purse (38.15 crore) followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad who have 34 crore in their kitty to spend. Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals are the two franchises with the least amount of money.
The 2023 ICC ODI World Cup witnessed some of the talented players on the Indian solid and the likes of Rachin Ravindra and Gerald Coetzee will be in high demand. Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final and the MS Dhoni led side will try to hit the stride when the tournament starts next year.
