'Mohammad Rizwan of Indian Team': Jemimah Rodrigues Being Trolled For Old Religious Videos

Star Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues has found herself at the center of controversy following the cancellation of her membership at the Khar Gymkhana in Mumbai. This decision came after her father, Ivan Rodrigues, was reported to be conducting religious activities on the club's premises, which some members deemed an attempt to convert people.

The club's action was taken during an annual general body meeting held on Sunday, where members expressed their objections to Ivan Rodrigues' activities. The officials, prioritizing the comfort and security of all members, felt compelled to act swiftly in response to the concerns raised. Ivan was allegedly using the hall at Khar Gymkhana under Jemimah's name.

Jemimah Rodrigues faces flak on social media

The cancellation of Jemimah Rodrigues' membership has sparked mixed reactions among fans. Netizens have taken to social media to criticize her family’s actions, suggesting that they reflect poorly on her reputation. Some people went on to call her Mohammad Rizwan of Indian women's cricket team. Rizwan has faced criticism several times for propagating his religious beliefs on and off the field.

Jemimah Rodrigues' membership had previously been a point of pride as she was the first Indian female cricketer to receive honorary membership at Khar Gymkhana in 2023. Her achievements in cricket, including her contributions to India's national team in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, have made her a prominent figure in the sport. Recently, she also represented India in the T20 World Cup held in the UAE.
