Mohammed Shami Joins Indian Greats With Unwanted Record! Bowls Five Wides In Opening Over Of IND vs PAK Match
India and Pakistan meet once again as they face off in their group stage match of the ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan after winning the toss are batting first.

As the ICC Champions Trophy after months of speculation and controversy is finally underway, quite possibly the biggest match of the tournament is underway today as arch-rivals Pakistan and India are facing off in their group stage match. The match between the two nations is taking place in Dubai, after India refused to travel to Pakistan for the tournament. Pakistan won the toss against India for their match and have elected to bat first in Dubai.
As Mohammed Shami opened the bowling for India, he came under the scanner for all of the wrong reasons.
Mohammed Shami Bowls Five Wides In Opening Over Of IND vs PAK
Indian bowler Mohammed shami was handed the bowl to open the bowling for India against Pakistan. The over however turned out to be quite unusual as it took eleven bowls for Mohammed Shami to finish the over.

Mohammed Shami who recently returned after a knee injury, ended up bowling five wides in the opening over as he faced the Pakistani openers- Babar Azam and Imam-Ul-Haq.
Shami Joins Indian Greats With Unwanted Record
Following the eleven bowl over, Mohammed Shami got an unwanted record next to his name. He created the record of bowling the longest over in ODIs by an Indian bowler. He became the third Indian bowler to get this unwanted record to his name following Indian greats Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan.

Mohammed Shami's eleven ball over was also the third longest over in the history of the ICC Champions Trophy. Bangladesh’s Hassibul Hossain and Zimbabwe’s Tinashe Panyangara hold the record for the longest over in the Champions Trophy. They both have bowled 13 ball overs and thus hold the record.
