He has been in the headlines for the past few weeks as he is busy attending various events. Recently at a programme in Kolkata, the CSK captain spilled the beans on how he tracked the Bangladesh side during a match.

MS Dhoni recalled a moment when he tricked the Bangladesh team with his Bengali speaking skills

From being a ticket collector to a World Cup winner, it has been a memorable journey for MS Dhoni. The 42-year-old spent a lot of time in West Bengal when he worked as a ticket collector for the Railways at Kharagpur. Dhoni relived the moment when he foiled Bangladesh's plans as they were not aware of his Bengali-speaking prowess.

When I used to work for Railways in Kharagpur I used to speak Bengali very well. But if I speak now I might not be well versed in the language but I can understand it pretty well. If I heard Bengali around me I could figure it out. I could remember one interesting story. We were playing in Bangladesh. I was batting and they didn't know that I understand Bengali. The wicketkeeper was saying something to the fast bowler and I already got to know what was on his sleeve”. After the match ended they were speaking with each other and then they reacted to Dhoni. “Ae e to bangali bujhte pare (this guy can understand Bengali),” Dhoni recalled while speaking at an event.

Will MS Dhoni play in IPL 2024?

Dhoni bid goodbye to international cricket back in 2020 but he has kept himself busy in IPL. He led CSK to their fifth IPL title as they defeated Gujarat Titans in the final in Ahmedabad. The CSK skipper will also participate in the IPL 2024 as the Chennai based franchise will make an attempt to be the IPL side with the most number of titles.
